Closing is the day buyer and seller sign the final documents, the money is delivered and the property passes to the buyer; the deed is then recorded and the buyer gets the keys.
How long does it take?
With a mortgage, usually 30 to 45 days from contract; cash can be faster. The date is in the contract and depends on every earlier deadline being met.
